Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway on the palm side of your wrist, it protects a main nerve and the nine tendons that bend your fingers. Compression of the nerve produces numbness tingling and eventually hand weakness as the main symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
There are many factors that contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome, including the anatomy of your wrist, use of the hand and other underlying health problems. Wrist fractures, rheumatoid arthritis are some examples, of what can cause inflammation, which would compress the median nerve and cause the symptoms.
Proper treatment, as early as possible, can relieve the symptoms and restore optimal hand functions.
